A proposed Stockport parent WhatsApp group

The aim is a private space for adult parents and carers to share experiences, practical tips and encouragement. Membership will be by request and administrator approval.

Group arrangements and the independent application contact are being confirmed. There is no public invitation link and applications are not yet being received.

How joining will work

  1. Answer the short questions. Tell us your connection to Stockport, what you would like from the group and where to send your invitation.
  2. The administrator reviews your answers. They may get in touch if anything needs clarifying.
  3. Receive your private WhatsApp link. Once your request is approved, the administrator sends you the invitation directly. You choose whether to join.

There is no need to create a website account. The invitation stays private rather than being published on this page.

A respectful space

The proposed group principles are simple:

  • Respect different languages, cultures, family circumstances and communication choices.
  • Keep other families’ information private. Do not share screenshots without permission.
  • Share experience as experience. Avoid presenting personal opinions as clinical or legal advice.
  • Keep children’s names, school details and medical documents out of group discussion.
  • Use professional or emergency routes when a family needs them.

Prepare a parent group request

The independent administrator and contact route are being confirmed. This form creates a draft for you to keep. It does not send an application or approve membership.

Use your own name. Do not include your child’s full name.
Use your own contact details. This is where the administrator can send your private invitation after reviewing your answers.
Keep this general. Do not include medical records, a school name, addresses or private information about children.
